Acetone that haven't use for a long time?

So i opened it and noticed there's gas coming out. Then i wiped a bit on my skin where the nail polish was accidentally brushed on and i heard a frying-like sound o.o. After few seconds, i saw white spots on my skin. Can anyone explain to me why did it turn out to be like that? and is it safe to use it?
