Can I remove the nail polish off of my acrylic nails?

I got my nails done today and got a basic red on the acrylic. Not to sure I'm completely thrilled with them, they're a tad bit bright but anyway just wondering if I use a Non-Acetone remover if it will wreck the nails. If not I'm fine with the color just may take a few days to get used to.
