Rpm jumping up and down, what could it be?

i drive a 91 integra ls auto 1.8 L dohc and when i idle or am in park, my rpm jumps from about 1.5 to 3.0 i do have a faulty oil pan gasket but i dont know if thats the issue. is it overheating?
