Can a weak or faulty power supply unit cause graphics card to overheat?

Your PSU won't cause the GPU to overheat directly, but could be the reason indirectly. 105 is really hot for a GPU (graphics processing unit) but the greatest reason is lack of airflow in the case. There should be at least two fans in your case, one to draw the air in, usually from the front, and one in the rear to push it back out. Many systems have 4, 5, 6 just to make sure there is good air movement. Also the GPU heatsink could be jammed with dust and other debris causing this problem. But the biggest reason is likely that you are overdrawing your PSU causing it to generate tons of heat. A basic system with a 4650 runs about 150w, a weak PSU that runs at 70% inefficiency (which is not unrealistic for a generic PSU) maxes out at around 190w, making it work hard to power your system. I suggest get some canned compressed air, blow out the GPU heatsink at the least but also change your PSU for something beefier.

My 2 and 3yr old daughters found nailpolish and colored each other. What will take it off without harming them?

I didn't leave it just lying around. They climbed a bookshelf to get to it. I was feeding my infant son when I realized they were very quiet. The nail polish is all over the carpet, the bed and their skin. I tried acetone free remover on the skin and they freaked out. I'm not so worried about the floor and bed as much. So Im determined to go to college in California because that state is AMAZING!!! My first question is what are some good colleges out there and Im smart and I volunteer and stuff so I don't want a school that's easy to get into. My next question is where are nice towns in California? I want a town that is an hour or less away from the beach and I want it to be well put together, warm, low crime rates, low pollution and overall a great place to raise a family when im ready. I know that where ever you go in Cali there are earthquakes but is there a town that has all these qualities but doesn't get that effected by earthquakes and also wildfires? Hi, i had a cold sore for 6 days now, on my previous question i stated that i never had one before this is my first cold sore, i had no idea why but now i realize why i got it.. I HAVE A COLD!.. anyways, i did everything i see on the internet to do, acetone, salt, idk what else but i tried it . the cold sore is going away thankfully, but mid way of the first cold sore, i seemed to start getting another one on my top lip, i have been very careful with the first one, super clean with it. i used abreva right away but ran out, the new sores have not erupted or anything, they are just a couple of small bumps here and there. would they erupt? i am using l lysine and carmex, thats it.

I bought and received one this week too from ebay. I think it is a fake as it came with a bonus benefit concealer brush which is a completely different colour to the one on their website. I can't prove anything either but the quality of the concealer isn't as good as I thought it would be. The price I paid wasn't cheap but it wasn't expensive either. As for the details on the back of mine it is the same as the post before mine. Mine doesn't have a four digit number on the back but the sticker on the back is very off centre (another reason I think it's a fake). i dont work on them but i take apart old ones to say more then likely that is it. if you open it be carefull the freeon is nasty i wont even mess with them untill an expert reclaims the stuff. if u look around the unit if there is any abnormal white staining thats ur leak freeon leaves a residue or stain that would not be there unless u have a leak. you should also check pipe fittings and coroded copper when it gets old aand has cold freeon it can weaken the pipe and may leak. if all else fails you can get a new ac and scrap the old one for 80 bucks good luck

Caring for a wild baby rabbit?

I recently discovered two baby rabbits my dog had found, the dog killed one and had the other in its mouth. I was able to rescue it and brought it inside. Its eyes are open but it doesn't seem to be able to walk. I don't think the dog paralyzed it because if you pick it up it strains to get away. I hope to get it to a wildlife group in the next few days. At the moment I have it in a basket on a towel. Is there anything I should do until the group can take it? It seems fat enough and stays warm on its own.

Well I was considering moving to arizona to live with my grandmother for quite a few reasons, it's warmer there, and there wouldn't be snow, and because I loved spending time with grandma as a kid. My grandparents moved from illinois to arizona when I was like 7 or 8 years old. My grandpa recently passed away in April, and grandma has other family in arizona to rely on, (my uncle, and his kids) and a few other family members but I mentioned moving in with grandma, because it's the only way I could afford to move out west to Arizona. My grandma sent me an email with a few things to consider such as if I was okay with staying in her guest room/sewing room & I told her I was, I thought it was a done deal I was moving out their, until I realized my grandma wants to talk with my dad about it, and my dad says she has strong reservations about it, not that she wouldn't be excited to have me their but grandma pretty much suggested going out and staying with her for a month on a vacation while we talked about all this. I thought it was a done deal, that I was moving out their (im unemployed in illinois) so I would have to look for a job and such out in Arizona. I'm really just wondering what strong reservations really means. I mean, I flat out told her that I didn't want to be a burden, is this her way of being polite and saying it may be a burden? She keeps telling me to consider other things like car insurance for a vehicle and legalizing it, considering I would have to sell my car and then buy another one out there, im just worried she will find reasons not to consider it. I pretty much feel like if I don't move out their now I probably won't because once I find a job here, im stuck here. Ya know? Is she politely trying to tell me she would rather not? Grounding prong broke off Scentsy Plug-In warmer... can i still use it?

I have a scentsy warmer that I use for melting wax in my bathroom. I had it plugged in my living room a while back and my daughter pulled it at a weird angle and snapped the grounding prong off in the socket. I'm not concerned about the socket, just if I can use the warmer still or not. It still has about 2/3 of the prong, but has a small piece of metal showing in the middle of it. Well when I tried to determine what type of burn it was there were no similar images online, about a minute after I burned myself I looked at it in the mirror and my top layer of skin was all white, I peeled it off, it was really weird, the next day at school everyone told me it looked like I got mad sun, so weird, I have a realy high pain tolerance and it hurts pretty badly, what would you guys determine the severity of the burn to be? How can I make this heal fast? Yes I know of aloe vera, neosporin, vitamin E, and hydrocortosine cream. I need PRACTICAL off the wall ways to get burns to heal really fast. Is it possible that I just seared my top layer of skin? Yes I know, I need to see a doctor, I already have.

Allen Head bolt Anti-theft?

I am currently building up a bike with (in my opinion) expensive quill stem and handlebars. I sometimes need to park it outside. I am currently experimenting with different adhesives in the head of the allen bolts to deter theft. I've heard people using epoxy with a ball bearing, but acetone to remove the epoxy makes me nervous with painted surfaces around. Bathroom Caulk seems to be rather easy to remove. I'm aware of expensive anti-theft bolts, but I was looking for an easy/cheap fix. Any Suggestions/ Ideas?

My Pelonis space heater shorted out and caused a fire. Do I have a case?

My Pelonis ceramic space heater caused a fire in my family room. I'm so glad we were home and awake! The heater was off but still plugged in. Honestly during the winter it's a permanent fixture in that room because it gets so cold. We do turn it off but typically do not unplug it. The other morning I heard what sounded like a cell phone vibrating, very loudly I might add. The next thing I new I heard my husband screaming "fire, fire, fire....He's your typical goof ball...so I figured he's goofing off with the kids...I turned around and looked into the family room and saw he was serious. There was a fire up the wall and behind the chair. He was able to get the fire out on his own however there was some damage. The plug on the heater shorted out (actually melted in the outlet). We did get an estimate for the damages and it's just over 8,000.00. We do have home owners insurance but I'm curious to know if it's worth the time and effort to try to have the manufacturer of the heater pay for the damages. It could have been a lot worse had we not been home and/or asleep but if this could be faulty manufacturing I don't think it's fair we are stuck with a large deductible.

Whys my amp cutting out?

I have a car audio setup in my house. Whenever I turn up the volume on my radio my amp cuts out and makes my sub do a popping noise. I've had a few people on youtube tell me my power supply isnt good enough and I need a car battery to power the amp. I also thought the same thing. My bro on the other hand told me that my power supply pushes a constant 12 volts and there is no voltage drop involved. u gotta practice your scales and arpeggios. the reason ur having trouble playing fast is because your left and rite hands are not in sync with eachother. once thats taken care of, it really just becomes a matter of getting comfortable with what your trying to play. because unless theres a physically taxing quality to it, like a very wide stretch for instance...it just boils down to picking the same way you did to play those scales. and the scales are the simplest way to address that problem.

Laptop headphone jack broken?

Ok, so both of the headphone jacks on my Dell studio laptop are not working as they should. When I plug in my headphones in either jack the sound is muffled and can barley be heard, also sometimes sound only comes through one headphone while being muffled. I just got him. The guy who sold him to me said I should feed him today, so i bought frozen mice. took the snake to the store with me, showed the clerk and he told me exactly what size mouse that snake should be eating. I thawed the mouse in warm water for 20 min. made sure it was warm before putting it in tank with snake. the snake responded well. spending at least 3 hours wrapping itself around the mouse. smelling it, licking it. then went in his little house a fell asleep. still wont eat the mouse. the previous owner fed him live mice, so is that a huge issue?

Is there any way to stay cool while i dry my hair ?

So its summer and I don't have air conditioning because basically its not needed where i live the nice weather here only lasts 2-3 months and even then the warmest it gets is (28-30 degrees Celsius) and that is on a good day its usually any were from 20-25. High blood pressure at 19?

I agree that those public blood pressure may not be the best indicator. One size does not fit all. Believe it or not there is a proper way to take a blood pressure. Sitting for 5 mins, arm at heart level, with proper size cuff. If you are a muscular person or overweight a normal cuff will give a false high reading. If a cuff is too large it will be a false low reading. If you feel fine have it checked if there is a local health fair. Or you could go to the local paramedic/EMT station when they are not busy. If you see'em sitting outside their not busy. Then ask what their policy is and explain your situation, Then tell them you appreciate their professionalism.

Whats up with my test?

i took one test last night, and another this morning, one was a first response and another was answer. both tests did this. i would see a faint positive start to develop, the line was fairly obvious, then it would disappear, and i cant tell if i see something or not! this would happen in probably a minute or so after i peed on it. could these be faulty tests, or could they just be crazy positives? we have been trying for 10 months for a baby...so we would be happy. we did decide if it didnt happen this time we would give it a rest, so im nervous to know! period is due tomorrow as well

Is my turbocharger blown or is it a boost leak?

I've got an 87 Toyota Supra single turbo and this is my first turbocharged vehicle so I'm still trying to learn about them. I've been driving my car around fine up until this morning. It seems like after the car warms up the turbo will make a "whining" noise kinda like a supercharger for just a few seconds when it starts to boost. Then it stops! After I stop boosting then start again, it does the same thing! The car is still hitting 5-7psi no problem, but once I hold steady boost for a while it seems like the car is losing power.

Has anybody else had this problem with their mac computers?

We have a mac (one of the newer, non-portable ones) and last Summer it wouldn't turn on. As in, it was all fine one day, and then the next day it just had no power. We had to send it away to be fixed for 8 weeks until we finally got it back. This, unfortunately, has happened again yesterday and our computer has been sent away...again. I always thought that macs were supposed to be such good quality but I've had a Toshiba as long as the mac and have had zero problems with it whereas our mac has now been sent away for repairs twice in less than a year. Did we just happen to get the one faulty mac or are any of you having this problem?

Are you sure that you're using pure acetone? After 45 minutes, the acrylic should be long gone. I only have to soak mine for about 15 to 20. I buy professional grade acetone from a beauty supply store. Double check that it is pure acetone. If it is, go back to where you had them done and see if they can remove them for you.

I had my hair colored by someone new yesterday and I don't like it. I usually have some warmth and depth to it, but this stylist used a different color and it's just kind of drab. I lost my hamster and I'm not sure how to get her back!?

So I have a pet hamster and recently my dad has been re-constructing our house and taking up floor boards and because our house isn't fully decorated yet there are some holes, like near the electric fireplace, in the floorboards, etc. Well recently my hamster escaped because we have this cage we needed to return because it's lid is faulty and wont shut correctly, we put books on top of it until we got were to get the problem sorted, but we didn't get around to sorting the cage out. My hamster escaped late Sunday night to around very early morning, we know this because my dad went to bed and he saw her in her cage perfectly fine around late Sunday night. So we woke up the next morning and the books fell off her cage and her lid was loose, we briefly looked around the house and couldn't find her, but because we're downstairs due to the construction on our house means that she was in the dining room and we have an arch going through our dining room to our living room and the living room is a door away from the kitchen. We couldn't find her and because there's so many holes in the room we gave up for a while because we figured she'd be asleep as it was morning. So when I came home from school we waited until night and then we considered the fact that she could have climbed the stairs, although I couldn't of imagined her to do so, but she was able to. My mum said it would have taken her a long time to climb the stairs, but then she did have all night so that was a fact we might like to consider. We did hear a series of sounds that night when we were looking for her, and in the dining room we found no holes that she could squeeze through and she wasn't stuck in any of our recliners as we went through them and looked under them, not in any of our drawers, not behind the bookcases or not inside the kitchen as the door was closed and she wouldn't have been able to fit through. So the only main place she could have gone was the gap under the fireplace, which has many boards for her to climb, but has many stone walls around it, I never thought she would be able to climb up there but we looked up the wall by using my brothers phone with the torch to record up there and she was nowhere to be seen, however it did go right up to the top ceiling of our house so we did consider that she could have been up there and that was the most obvious place to look. Only recently have I gone upstairs and seen that the main places she could have gone was my brothers room, which door he usually keeps open slightly, my room but its all boarded up and my dad has sorted the holes out in that room, or the bathroom, which floorboards are all up with lots of holes, but the holes only lead under the floorboards so she'd be fine underneath and there's so many places to look in the bathroom, so there's two main places she would have gone, up the fireplace wall, which is completely safe, or under the floorboards upstairs. How can I find her? It really upsets me that I don't know where she is and for all I know she could be gone. We also found a hamster dropping near the coffee table which is near the fireplace, so she might have been up there.. please help me, and if you spent your time reading this I really do appreciate it! Thank-you so much if you can help me and it actually works, I can't spare the fact that she could be dead and I don't know about it, I'd rather her die in her own home, thank-you!

How can I get a better nights sleep?

I need the have a lot of sleep because im a very active person but lately i haven't been able to get a good nights sleep (nightmares, waking up at 2 am, not being able to fall asleep etc.) I dont know what is causing this but i really need help because so far none of my ideas have worked (warm milk before bed, heat pad to warm up the bed, relaxing before trying to fall asleep etc.)

Car overheating? What is the problem?

I have an older car 96 Olds. In the warmer months the temp gauge seems to go a little high. The hottest temp it goes to on my gauge is 280 and the needle gets to approx 240 at times. When the car is moving fast like freeway driving it stays lower 210-220 maybe. When I am city driving or idoling it goes right up high. Would a coolant flush and fill help this problem? Also it is ok to drive a car running hotter like this. I have to wait a week for a payday to get it looked at. Any ideas would be helpful. I just don't want to ruin anything. Thank you.

Either a bad connection on the hot or neutral where it comes into the switches or bad connection on the neutral at the fan. Check the connections at the switch box to make sure they are secure to the switches and under the wire nuts. Since the fan vibrates as it runs I suspect the neutral connection was not tight at the fan. Make sure all connections at the fan are secure within the wire nuts.

Power adapter limited?

It depends, I have seen some adapters that change the voltage and some that are only adapters that don't change the voltage. If it is a transforming adapter it could be overloaded by the light and that's why it may not be working. It also could be the voltage since the US uses 110 and the UK uses 240 and the led bulbs often use low voltage themselves and have their own transformer and you could be over powering it but I think if that was the case it would have burned out as soon as you plugged it in.

A tree or bush question?

My family and I just moved into home on about 2 acres this winter and as the weather has gotten much warmer lately I was walking around my yard the other day and saw a couple of trees and bushes that both have red berries and black berries also. My question is does anyone know if this could be a raspberry or black raspberry tree or if black and red raspberries even come on a tree. We also have bushes with the same berries as the tree. The berries are red or black and both colors seem ripe not like they are unripe still. I would love for this to be a black raspberry tree but dont want to fool myself either. ok ive been a father since october... i found out she was mine and she was 15 months at the time.. we informed the pressumed father and he deceded to back up and not be in her life ever since. anyways ive been a dad for 9 months.. my daughter turned 2 on june 10th. ive given child support to my ex, i got a few reciepts, she calls me daddy, and is always happy to see me when i pull up. ive been there for her every chance i could get and ive gotten no more then 70 hours a week with her... as of june 14 i havnt seen her since... her mom got mad at me and told me i hope u realize ull never se her again.. i didnt do anything that would hurt the child in anyway... she just was mad cuz i vented to my friends who happen to be her family. i served her a week before her 2nd birthday for establishing parental rights and ect.. 3 weeks later she serves me asking the court to deny my papers... sooooooo i know that it has to go to court for him/her to reject them but will he? i mean ive been in her life 9 months and she loves my family and she loves my home. she warmed up to my place real quick... so will the time i spend away from her hurting me with the judge? any ideas are welcome but id prefer an actual opinion not just one sentence... thankyou

I always had light ones for both of my kids, and both are fine (spotting with both as well). The best thing you can do is go to the doc and have them take your HCG counts 48hrs apart (tell them you have spotted, but tested pos) and if the numbers go up, you are much more likely to carry your baby to term. Acetone nail polish remover and pregnancy.?

So I spilt fingernail polish on my carpet, what a mess that was. So to get it out I used acetone nail polish remover... big mistake. It smells horrible, I tried using soap to get the smell out and odor eliminators... But worst of all im 24 weeks pregnant. Am I at risk here?

Why didn't my smoke detectors go off?

I had just returned from a outing to find out that the whole house is full of smoke. Appartenly I had left the burner on under the pot of peach preserve that I was making earlier that day. A thick white smoke was bellowing from the pot. Took it out and put it out. But the house was so full of smoke, my eyes would burn everytime I went back in. Surprisingly none of the smoke detectors in the whole house had gone off ! I have at least 4 outside the kitche area (living room, foyer, up the staircase, and inside my office on first floor) all of them hardwired. All these areas were smokey, but no alarms went off. The one upstairs is from ADT and that should have caused ADT to call me about the smoke. The ones downstairs are different brand and relatively newer (2005). If there were only one smoke detector, I would suspect faulty detector, but 4. I am not even counting all the onesin bedrooms upstairs, which are battery operated. The bedrooms were smokey too but not as bad as downstairs. Could it be that ALL my detectors are bad? or are they not designed to detect smoke from burning sugar?!

If they can't see atoms how do they get chemical formulas?

Seeing as how no one has ever seen an atom, how do they know the exact structures of molecules? Also, if the main proofs of atoms are math and brownian motion (which could be any number of things, not just 'atoms'), then when they updated the size of the neutron a few years back and made it much larger, does that mean all chemistry based on math was flawed and needs to be redone, or that those scientists were just trying to cover their own faulty math? About a week ago I was playing tennis and doing my morning workout. But after that day, I notice pain on my right knee. I have never had this pain on my knee before. Miracle grow is often too harsh and it burns the plants . tomatoes changing colors while ripening is typical but not the soft blotchy fruit. remember tomatoes ARE weeds too! and like most weeds they often do best when not over cared for.

Problems with central air conditioning?

This is an apartment. The inside fan motor wasn't spinning, but the outside heat exchanger was working. The unit is in the ceiling of the apartment. I opened up the access panel, and saw that the thing that looks like a radiator was covered with ice. It was melting, and I put a bucket under it. I turned the fan from auto to "on" and the fan came on. I turned the other control from off to "cool" and all I could hear was a click. The outside heat exchanger would not come on. I would flick the 2 switches on and off, and occasionally the outside exchanger would come on, but 98% of the time it just made a loud click. What could be the problem, and how would I diagnose it? I've replaced several faulty motors/capacitors and contactors before on different units. Something like a condensor or compressor is beyond my capability. Right now, the ice is thawing. There is no safety switch that disables the unit when the access panel is removed. Thank you.

There must be a short somewhere in the car's wiring that's draining your battery. It'll be tricky to track down. It's likely shorting through the car's body or something. All the jump starts on the battery can and will ruin the battery in the long run. If I'm right, if you pop off one of the poles of the battery before leaving the car for the night, then re-attaching the pole and then starting your car should work.

Sleepover Dilemma!?! Help!?

I'm having a sleepover with me and my friend Laura. I'm that kinda person who sorta has trouble falling asleep. So it's 4:20am, We were planning on staying up till 2 or 3. I've been in your shoes. When one is down, having a more compassionate doctor helps someone. The last thing a person wants is to have a person that is the opposite of that. People in that career should be more understanding. Just know that you aren't alone when it comes to insurance and different types of doctors. Try to take her at face value and know it's not you. It's her personality and nothing personal towards you. As far as email is concerned, my doctor didn't like me emailing her either. Don't they realize email is how people communicate these days? I know they like seeing one face to face, but in between appts would be nice if they didn't mind emails. About the medications, I'm on medications and I feel much better. If they can help you feel better in life, give them a try. Sometimes though, they have to find the right medication for you; therefore, you may have to go thru different ones until you find the one that works for you. And remember that they don't work right away. also, the way we think, determines how we feel. It's not easy, but try teaching yourself that. Lastly, hang in there. You aren't alone!

Custom built pc not displaying.?

Just finished my build, put the power on and everything is spinning up but there is nothing appearing on the display. Getting a single short beep and the user manual says this means a successful boot up. Hd the ram modules out individually and they don't seem to be faulty. Usually they would be getting darker, but at 9DPO you should get a faint line, many woman would just get a negative at that point. What DPO are you now? Its possible a faint positive at this point still makes sense.. and even if they are not getting darker yet that does not mean your pregnancy is not progressing... you should just get a blood test done to measure your levels accurately.

Is it normal for a 15 year old girl to get hot flashes?

I've had them occasionally for almost as long as I can remember. It usually happens when I'm in a lot of pain, I'll have hot flashes (this is especially true when i get bad stomach aches) or when it's too hot (obviously lol). I get them maybe once or twice a week. I'm also really sensitive to temperatures though, like if it's kind of chilly out I'll be freezing to death, or if it's a little warm I'm sweating buckets. Do my hot flashes have anything to do with that? I didn't really think anything of it till I found it that it's usually more common for older women. Should I see a doctor or anything?

Getting accidentall spray paint off of a car?

Ok so I was spraying using a spray gun in our garage, long story short the car got a light mist on it. It's been a while since it happened. Is Fallout New Vegas less glitchy on the Xbox 360?

I have played both fallout 3 and fallout New Vegas on Xbox360. I JUST got Fallout New Vegas only a few days ago, but so far, it lives up to it's reviews. Game-play is pretty good I have encounter several glitches so far though including; game freezing, missing items, glitch streets and walkways and lost data. Compared to Fallout 3, their are more gun options and Hardcore Mode offers a much more challenging game-play. their are a lot of different perks, and perks that you can earlier on on in Fallout 3 compared to New Vegas. Overall, personally, i give fallout 3 a 8.6 and New Vegas gets a 8.0 because i think the quests are more fun on 3 compared to New Vegas. but that's just me.

Fizzy or buzz sound in my set up....can you help identify it?

I just have my keyboard hooked up to my AV Amplifier via the AUX input using an unbalanced TRS jack. When I turn it on and begin to press the keys there is a fizzy or buzz sound off some of them and its more noticeable as I move up the octaves... C6 onwards. It also happens if I press more than 4 keys that are next to each other. Its NOT a faulty audio adapter or the 50/60hz hum from the mains. Just curious as to what might be causing it... Cheers

Why won't my car start/turnover!?!?! is it a vampire? (seriously) plz help?

I just got my 2001 kia optima out of the shop because the fuse box melted some along with some connectors and wires...they removed the push button start (after market) and said that was probably the cause (faulty wiring job).. i went to pick up my car and it didn't start...the battery is relatively brand new (less than a year old with a 5 year warranty...its like 3-4 months old..so they said we'll check it out...then they said the car started the next day no problem multiple times..and that it was probably a bad ignition switch or neutral switch (neutral something...not sure exactly what they said)..but i drove the car that day and it started just fine in the morning...then i stopped and tried again in like 2 hours and it didnt start...basically it seems the car only starts at night or in the morning....im assuming that means it only seems to like cooler temperatures...EVEN THOUGH once it is started once and the car is warmed up it can be turned on and shut off multiple times no problem (basically everything is normal at night?). is my car a vampire or what!? oh btw my doesnt turnover or make any noise (during the day) when I turn the key from the "on" to "start" position, and the radio turns off when i do go from the "on" to "start" (i read somewhere that that means my ignition switch is fine?). Is my car a vampire or something?!!? i want to take it to a shop but those bastards charge like $100-$200 just to diagnose the damn problem...and I JUST got it out of the shop i don't feel like spending another several hundred right away....any ideas??? plz help..btw i live in WA state..(the car started fine last night in the cool raining weather..but not just a second ago at around 5 PM..)
